Velocity clinics

You might have heard of them, but what are they? And why should you book a session?

A clinic is a 25-minute one-on-one session with someone from the start-up and entrepreneurial ecosystem. You talk about your idea, and the clinician provides you with expert advice, probing questions and suggestions on how to improve your idea.

Many of our clinicians are normally paid to give advice, so to get access to these people for free is an opportunity not to be missed.

The clinicians have a wide range of expertise, so select the one that you think might be most helpful for you.

Below a little information about each of the clinicians:

Debra Hall

Debra draws on her experience as an engineer in the mining industry, a strategic marketing consultant, a business owner and exited entrepreneur to deliver clarity of thinking and strategic direction to the governance and advisory boards on which she sits. In addition to her board work, she mentors young entrepreneurs, trains aspiring directors of early stage companies, and invests in start-up businesses in the high growth / technology space supporting the growth of NZ Inc.

Martin Enright

Expert in revenue growth and business development for social impact.
Key skills include deal structuring, contracting, rights and content licensing, strategic planning, impact evaluation, new ventures, governance and partnering. Key sector experience in Media & Entertainment, Technology & New Ventures, Social Impact, Commercial Law, Telecommunications & Education. Strong interest in empowerment and social impact.

Neil Forster

Passionate about helping New Zealand companies understand and implement sustainable innovation, both in actions and thinking, ensuring that it has a focus of company wide engagement. Well experience in the areas of IT revitalisation and enabling digital transformation.

Mark Burgess

Mark Burgess has over thirty years experience in product commercialisation and market development through the application of advanced technologies supporting innovation in business. Key domains include agritech and biotechnology and his knowledge of materials sciences, ICT and energy enables him to see across the boundaries of technology domains and create innovative solutions where some only see problems.

Dick Bellamy

Emeritus Professor Dick Bellamy is a virologist and molecular cell biologist. Dick is a Fellow of the Academy of the Royal Society of New Zealand and recently retired from the University of Auckland after serving 10 years as Dean of Science. Before that he served as Director of the School of Biological Sciences. Dick is a current Director DNA Diagnostics Ltd –a company which he helped found.

Anne Walsh

With extensive experience in marketing and growing international FMCG brands, Anne brings a global perspective to NZ start-ups. Anne is an active Kiwi Angel investor and company director.
