About

Working as a research assistant with an inspiring tech savvy supervisor led Jenny Cheng to focus her career on the intersection between law and technology. She has a passion for exploring how technology and innovation can disrupt the legal profession, a field that is steeped in history and tradition.

“The entrepreneurial spirit makes all the difference — giving you an unwavering belief to push past fear, doubt, uncertainties and to ultimately create a better future.”

Jenny studied law and economics for a BA/LLB at the University of Auckland. However instead of pursuing a traditional graduate legal or economics role she chose to work for LegalTech as a Partner Relationship Manager for their Justly brand.

Justly is a cloud based service that enables customers to quickly and easily create their own legal documents and share them with their lawyer. It is focused on creating the best customer experience for those wanting to create wills, power of attorney and other legal documents.

While studying economics Jenny became involved in Make A Difference with Economics (MADE). MADE is a network of senior undergraduate and postgraduate economics students, providing events, policy and projects In 2013 she was part of the team that grew MADE into the largest student-run Economics organisation at the University of Auckland.

Jenny’s advice to those wanting to explore their entrepreneurial side is to “pave your own path, wherever you go, whatever you do, whoever you are the best way is paving your own way.”

Jenny Cheng graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws.
